About

Who am I you ponder?

Let us start with the most obvious one of them all, I love games. That is games both as in video games but also board games. There is nothing as great as kicking back after a long week with friends and playing something together. It’s much harder due to us all having busy lives, but I also try to get friends together for board games and I am currently playing through the campaign of Frosthaven – I highly recommend you play it if you are interested – with a couple of friends. I also play at my local game store weekly where a group of us gather to play Flesh and Blood – this I can also highly recommend if you are a competitive card game player – and monthly with another group it is Vampire: The Eternal Struggle – likewise recommended if you are interested in card games.

Looking past the games, but not too far, I am a programmer that appreciates the gameplay aspect of programming in games. I enjoy my work when I can write a block of code expecting a certain result, boot up the project and immediately test if it worked or not. Ever since the early stages of elementary school I have liked math with it being superseded by physics when I started in gymnasiet (upper secondary school) so when I heard we were using PhysX for our last two projects at The Game Assembly (TGA) I took the lead on that. During the second year here at TGA I have also gotten the main responsibility for the audio implementation via FMOD and it has both been fun to work with but also given me the awareness of how much of a difference it can make for the final product.

Now, actually moving past the games. I as a person am very calm and collected. I like to think things through before doing anything too hastily and also try to avoid potential problems that might arrive in the future by taking an extra minute. I am also very positive but at the same time realistic. I don’t really get stressed as I can only do my best and if my best is not enough then there is nothing else I can do. I find myself agreeing with a line that can be found in Baz Luhrmann’s “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” – that funnily enough started playing as I was writing this paragraph – “Don’t worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum“. I have yet to find a person that I could not cooperate with as I tend to find that with good communication and a positive mindset most troubles can be solved. I like my alone time and find solitude to be a good place for reflection and recharging as well as getting new ideas. I enjoy the stillness of the woods or the calmness of the ocean. I have no problem with conflicts if something should come up and I find it better to air it out than to keep it locked up only for it to be released at a later time. I value honesty and if someone asks me for feedback I will tell them what I truly think.
