Welcome Wanderer

My name is Linus Rodhammar and I will be your guide on this humble website. You have come at an opportune time, reconstruction of this site has just finished which also means that you are free to roam around the pages and read whatever pleases.

Specialization

Ah yes, the specialization. A perfect opportunity to do something just because it was fun. Seeing as I was mostly interested in the gameplay aspects of game development and in combination with my project group talking about having a grappling hook but being advised from doing it, I was intrigued. This felt like the perfect time so I set out on a journey, to create my very own grappling hook. Did I succeed you wonder? Well, take a look for yourself!

Game Projects at TGA

Through the game projects at The Game Assembly (TGA) I got to experience the process of making games in various genres, through different pipelines and with varying tools.

Our first two projects were made solely in Unity, the third and fourth in the school’s custom engine with Unity as a level editor and our fifth to seventh games use Unreal Engine as the level editor for use in our very own custom engine dubbed as the LAMP Engine.

It was a very enlightening experience I tell you and a joy to work with the different teams that was formed for each project. The pace was high but we always prevailed and came out the other end stronger with knowledge gained and lessons learned.

The knowledge gained was not only specific to programming though. A deeper understanding of what it meant to work in a team with multiple disciplines that all saw the project through a unique lens and had different needs was also a big part of it.

Below you can find the most recent, finished, game project trailer:

If you want to inquire about my role within each game project I refer you to the TGA Game Projects page.
